Silica Exposure – Does your flashing comply with OSHA standards?

Date: 8/7/2017

RE: Silicosis

OSHA has set new standards for exposure to silica and the construction industry has to be in full compliance by September 23, 2017.  The new standards reduce permissible exposure to silica by 80%.  For more information on the subject visit www.osha.gov/silica/index.html.

As building professionals it is our obligation to find solutions that protect the installers and end users of the products we specify.  Please review the products you specify, since several through-wall flashings use mica dust (silica) as a bond breaker.

York Flashings can proudly state that all of our products are silica free and this can be confirmed by reviewing our Health Product Declarations (HPD’s) at www.yorkmfg.com
